Got a question? We’re here to help.
A great way to choose a color for an interior room is to go based off of the furniture that you are planning to use in that room. Look at the colors that you already have, and work based off of those tones to create a color palette for your space.
Traditionally, eg-shel and satin finishes are used throughout the interior of a home or office because they offer a slight sheen, while being easier to wipe clean than a matte finish. Semi-gloss and high-gloss paint finishes are used for trim around windows and doors to help set them apart from the walls, and they are the easiest to wipe clean due to their high gloss.
Think about the mood you want to create, and what the room will be used for. Once you have narrowed those two questions down, you can begin to look at color choices that will fall in the category of the feeling you are going for. For example: If you want drama, look at deep reds or purples. For peaceful spaces, look at light blues and greens.
No, you don't. But we recommend it. If you have paint that you have already purchased, we will be happy to use that for you if there is enough. Otherwise we suggest letting us get the correct type and color of paint directly from Sherwin Williams. We trust this brand to deliver great color, coverage, and longer lasting results versus the big box store variety.
For small spaces, think "light and airy" when it comes to your color choices. You may be tempted to punch some color into a room with your favorite charcoal gray, or navy blue, but we suggest resisting that urge. Dark colors will make a small space feel smaller. It will also make a room without much natural light feel smaller. Go with light or neutral colors to brighten and open up your space.
